Circular To All Devotees Of The Shree Shree Ma Anandamayee Ashram, Kalkaji New Delhi
All devotees are hereby informed that the Sangha has now received permission from the government to receive funds under the CSR Scheme for undertaking projects as are permitted for the benefit of the poor and the economically backward group. This allows the Delhi Ashram to solicit for CSR Funds from Corporates that have to spend on CSR activities.
Among the devotees in Delhi, we have been assured by some of their ability to procure funds from large corporate houses and we also have some devotees who run industries and are in a position to donate funds to us.
We have therefore thought of setting up a PRIMARY HEALTH CENTER in the Delhi Ashram to service the poor and underprivileged who reside at the back of our Ashram. At this Center, we shall arrange to have specialized doctors come for a short period of time to examine and treat patients in the initial stages of any malady so that the load on the hospitals is reduced. The charges will be minimal and even medicines may be given free or at subsidized rates.
It is proposed to build a large hall with additional facilities measuring about 1800 sqft the cost of which is estimated to be about Rs 30 lakhs and if an additional floor is built then the cost may be around Rs 55 lakhs.
There shall be an additional cost of equipment and fittings of about Rs 20 lakhs so the project cost may be about Rs 75 lakhs.
The CSR funds can only be availed of if the project is started and all donors will require Utilization Certificates every Financial Year showing how the funds given by them have been utilized.
The Delhi Ashram has received funds from some devotees and expects to receive an amount of Rs 50 lakhs or so from the sale of the flat donated by Late Dr. Anjali Chatterjee. Over the years we have also made savings from which this project can easily be financed.
The purpose of this note is only to secure your permission for utilizing the funds which have been received as donations from you all for the running of the ashram.
We are sure that all of you shall agree that the ashram today is well maintained and we have been organizing festivals regularly which has brought life to the Ashram.
This additional project is being proposed by us as we feel that unless the ashram offers some service to the people around, its utility to them besides providing the religious inputs to their life does not help them in any other way. MA had always spoken of SEWA to all and especially the poor and the downtrodden and in this way, we may perhaps follow HER instructions.
WE would like to have your opinion before we go ahead with the project and therefore any devotee who has objections or reservations may kindly send in their written comments to the office within a month of this letter.
Devotees may please note that we have received last year through our head office some funds from a foreign donor for providing medical service to the poor and with the setting-up of the above-stated facilities we hope to be able to attract additional funds and be able to offer more and better treatment to the poor.
We now await your approval for this project and for the usage of the funds donated by you earlier for use in this project.
